gamma-Nonanolactone properties :
Coconut aldehyde, also known as γ-nonanolactone, γ-Nonanoiclactone, and n-amyl butyrolactone, is a colorless or slightly yellow transparent oily liquid with a sweet coconut aroma and a Chemicalbook peach and apricot smell when diluted. Natural products are found in peaches, apricots, tomatoes, rum and roasted barley. It is obtained by reacting heptanal and malonic acid to generate noneenoic acid, then adding 85% sulfuric acid to stir, washing and then vacuum distillation.
