LANTHANUM FLUORIDE Appearance properties：
white powder, density 5.936. Melting point 1493 C, boiling point 2330 C, insoluble in water, insoluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, but soluble in perchloric acid. It is hygroscopic in air and relatively stable. Ammonium fluoride generates NH4F-LaF3 insoluble double salts.
LANTHANUM FLUORIDE Application：
1.Uses: used to prepare scintillators, rare earth crystal laser materials, fluoride glass optical fibers and rare earth infrared glasses required by modern medical image display technology and nuclear science.
2.Used in the manufacture of arc lamp carbon electrodes in lighting sources. Used in chemical analysis to make fluoride ion-selective electrodes. In the metallurgical industry, it is used to manufacture special
alloys and electrolytically produce lanthanum metal. Used as a material for pulling lanthanum fluoride single crystals.
